For Immediate Release – Enhancing our community involvement is vitally important to us as well; whether we are part of a health fair, community event, or simply raising/donating funds for a good cause. This is exactly what we decided to do when we partnered up with Mrs. Annali Garcia’s 2nd Grade Class from Prada Elementary.
The 2nd grade class was determined to raise as much funds as they could for the children affected by Muscular Dystrophy by participating in a school-wide campaign. It was the efforts of Alejandro Valadez, one of Mrs. Garcia’s student that compelled us to make the donation. Alejandro approached the Facility Administrators at STAT Emergency Center of Laredo-South as he was going business to business collecting donations for the MDA Summer Camp. It was his determination and positive attitude that made our decision to make the donation on his classroom’s behalf an easy one!
On Friday, May 13, 2016, STAT Emergency Center participated in the Prada Elementary Career Fair, and the check was presented to Mrs. Garcia’s class following the event (Picture attached). Grace Padron, Director of Operations said,

“We are committed to enhancing our community involvement whenever possible, and we are compelled to do so when children like Alejandro Valadez commit themselves to raising funds for a good cause.”

MDA Summer Camp provides thousands of kids with muscular dystrophy and related muscle-debilitating diseases “the best week of the year.” At MDA Summer Camp, kids are living beyond limits in a place where anything is possible. It’s a week where they’re free to enjoy adventures like horseback riding, swimming and fishing, develop lifelong friendships, and build self-confidence and independence.

“Seeing the smiles, and the excitement on the children’s faces is what makes this all worth the while”

continued Padron.
